The Gardens
Spanning 16 acres, Cherkley Court offers the garden visitor a rare
and exciting mixture. At its heart lies a series of grand terraces
descending southwards from the house, punctuated and flanked by stone
stairs and enclosed by balustraded walls. Beyond are breathtaking
views across yew woods to the Mole Valley.
But the garden is more than this formality might imply: intimacy
is offered by secluded spaces, splashing water and soft planting.
There are surprises too: the shell grotto, wild flower meadows and
a walnut grove. Please click here to find out more.
Why not take a tour of the garden?
Wander at your leisure or take a free garden tour. They take place
regularly throughout the garden opening season subject to the availability
of a guide. They take in the best of the garden features and planting,
and last about 25 minutes.
The Orangery is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee
and some afternoon tea whilst visiting the gardens.
