Set Down Point

There is a set down point for visitors with mobility impairment opposite the Stableyard next to the House. On arrival, please drive to the ticket office to obtain access to the set down point. Vehicles must be taken to the car park after dropping off.

Parking

There are three signed disabled parking bays adjacent to the Orangery. Please see the Ticket Office to obtain access to the parking bays. There are steps from the main car park to the Garden and it is therefore not practical for wheelchair users to use this car park.

Wheelchairs and Electric Buggies

Visitors may bring their own wheelchairs and electric buggies to use in the gardens. A carer is admitted free of charge with a wheelchair user who requires assistance. We recommend that any carer is strong and able, as some slopes in the Gardens are more than 1:6. Where this is the case, it is signposted.

There is a recommended route for wheelchair users. Regrettably, parts of the East Woodland Garden and Walnut Walk are not accessible to wheelchairs and electric buggies due to the steep gradients.

Cherkley Court has two manual wheelchairs available for use. These are free of charge and provided on a first come first serve basis, and therefore availability cannot be guaranteed.

Toilets

There is a unisex disabled toilet located in the Orangery Tearooms with a ramped access from the courtyard outside.

Guidedogs

Service dogs are allowed throughout the garden and Orangery and should be kept under control at all times.

Tea Rooms

There is ramped access with handrail to the Teashop and level access to seating outside. The doors have 940mm opening.

All seats and chairs are freestanding so that wheelchairs can be accommodated. Staff will be happy to bring your meal to your table.

The Grounds

Cherkley Court is situated on a significant slope overlooking Norbury Park and as such there are steep gradients in the garden. Paths are made of crushed concrete, gravel and grass.

Rest platforms, benches and ramps are provided. There are many steps in the garden. There is a ramp from the Italian Garden to the upper terrace.

Information Leaflets

Guided walks are available for all visitors subject to availability of a guide throughout the Garden's open season. For details of what guided tours are available, see our web page on 'What's On at Cherkley' or ask at the Ticket Office on the day.

A large print guide is available free of charge. Please ask at the Ticket Office.
